One of the most important aspects when it comes to driving a car is checking the tire pressure. It is extremely crucial that you maintain the tire pressure that is recommended for ones you are using as that would provide you with a riding experience that is as comfortable as any. If your tires lack the right pressure there is a good chance that there could be accidents which means grave injuries for both the car as well as the passengers riding in the same. It is important that you know the accurate pressure levels so that you can avoid causing any damage to the tires of your car.

This is something that all drivers need to be aware of. If you see that the pressure is not at the desired level you must rectify it as soon as possible.

Underinflated tires

It should be rather obvious to you that if you are driving on underinflated tires it could prove to be absolutely catastrophic for you. If the tires are underinflated it would lead to friction between the tires and the road that they are being used on. This would make it extremely difficult for you to drive the car. If the tires of your car are underinflated it can also damage the suspension system and steering of the vehicle.

Overinflated tires

One of the biggest myths that you get regarding overinflated tires is that they help you save fuel. As you can see for yourself, there is no modicum of truth in it. Over-inflation lowers the friction between the tire and the road. This is definitely not good news for you – the driver – since it makes it more difficult for you to control the vehicle.

What is the recommended tire pressure for cars?

Usually, the commonest pressure recommended for car tyres is between 32 and 35 PSI (pound-force per square inch). If this is the recommendation then even if your car’s tire pressure is between 36 and 38 PSI it would be fine for you as a user. However, if the pressure is lesser than that such as at 28 PSI it can prove to be dangerous for you. The tire pressure for bikes is different from that of cars. If you are using the bike for purposes of regular travel the pressure of the tires must be between 80 and 130 PSI.

If you use a mountain bike it must be between 25 and 30 PSI.

You need to know how to check the pressure of your car’s tires. The first way in this case would be to use cold tires to check the pressure of the tires. This means that you need to let the vehicle rest overnight and then check the tire pressure at the morning. You can also use a pressure gauge to do the needful in this case. Note the readings and compare them with the PSI recommended for your vehicle. If the tire happens to be underinflated you must fill it up to the recommended level.
